Accessing the service:
Parents & carers

Hello and welcome - I'm pleased you found me.
Please note: My work comes via schools who contract with me.
Parents and carers should generally be able to access Educational Psychology (EP) support free, through their child’s school (if necessary and appropriate) by speaking to their child’s class teacher and the school Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo). I always strongly encourage parents and carers to explore this avenue of support first.
Should parents or carers be unable to access EP support via that route for any reason, I would recommend they contact the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) in their local area; they are independent of both schools and the Local Authority, meaning they are well-placed to give sound advice. Contact details for that service can be found within the ‘Knowledge Zone’ tab, under ‘Information for parents and carers.’
Sadly, I do not currently have capacity to take on private assessments commissioned by parents. Parents requiring that service may wish to take a look at the HCPC website and search for 'Practitioner Psychologists' working in their area.
